BAREFOOT GRANNIES
WOMEN LEADING CHANGE

Our HIV/AIDS program aims at reducing rates of HIV/AIDS prevalence, new infections and build multi-sector responses against the pandemic. We also work with HIV/AIDS high-risk groups of bar attendants, sex workers, people living with HIV/AIDS, children orphaned by HIV, youth and widows to improve their access to health and Antiretrovial Therapy services.

In recognition of the negative impact of the AIDS epidemic, we use an  HIV/AIDS Collaborative Response Model. Our responses target HIV prevention, , advocacy, care and treatment services specifically to women and People Living with HIV/AIDS.  We have improved PLHAs access to health support services, counselling, ART services ad improved their access to descent housing, clean water and nutritious food.

Due to the impact of the AIDS epidemic, we developed the HIV/AIDS Collaborative Response Model. Our responses have mainly focused on HIV prevention, advocacy, care and treatment services specifically to women and People Living with HIV/AIDS.

70% of the households we work with don't have access to descent housing and access to clean water sources. We support each family with a complete housing unit that includes a two-roomed house, a pit latrine and a water tank.
